The first trailer of Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Super 30’ was released earlier today.
Directed by Vikas Bahl, the movie will revolve around the life of Indian mathematician and educationist Anand Kumar. The name, ‘Super 30’ alludes to the education program Kumar founded with IPS officer Abhayanand, to teach and mentor youngsters from underprivileged backgrounds with the aim of helping them crack the IIT JEE, now known as the JEE-Advanced.
A batch of 30 meritorious kids – hailing from poor families – is trained free of cost every single year for entry into the famous Indian Institutes of Technology.
One Man’s Journey Towards a New India
The biographical drama is set to release on the 12th of July, 2019, starring Hrithik as Kumar, the genius mathematician who set out to share his knowledge with the underprivileged masses of India, helping them gain entry into some of the most prestigious institutions of the country.
It is the tale of one man’s fortitude and determination against seemingly impossible odds.
The movie will also star Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Tripathi, Nandish Singh, and Aditya Srivastava in important supporting roles. The soundtrack for the film was composed by Ajay Atul, with the lyrics being written by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
Reactions of the Twitterati
The trailer, which dropped earlier today, seems to have struck a chord with the audience as well as with Bollywood celebs, who have taken to Twitter to voice their appreciation. Hrithik’s de-glamorized look too is getting much love from his fans around the world!
Taking to Twitter to share the trailer of his latest film with fans, Hrithik wrote in a short but heartwarming caption:
“Not all Superheroes wear capes. It’s the ideas that make a nation. It’s the people who empower it.”
Later, Anand Kumar himself took to Twitter to voice his opinion about the recently released trailer. He also uploaded a picture which depicted him watching the trailer with his family members. His family had become emotional after watching his numerous struggles on screen, Kumar confided.
According to him, it wasn’t Hrithik playing a character that he saw on screen, but rather a true depiction of himself and his own past.
“Trailer dekhe. Poore pariwar ke aankhon mein aansu aa gaye. Laga ki film mein Hrithik Roshan nahi balki main hi hu. Sangharsh ke din yaad aa gaye. Atyacharon se muqabla karte hue bhi kathin paristithiyon mein bhi vidhyarthiyon ko padhana. Bhai ka saath. Aur sab kuch. Film ki poori team ka aabhaar.”
Despite some criticism from Twitterati about his portrayal of the Bhojpuri accent, Hrithik Roshan and team have received an overwhelmingly positive response for the trailer of ‘Super 30’ on the Internet.
Earlier, it was expected that the film might clash with the Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra starrer ‘Jabariya Jodi’ as the two shared the same release date. However, the makers of ‘Jabariya Jodi’ have now fortuitously postponed the date of their release to August 2.
A Heartwarming Conclusion?
The trailer features numerous inspirational monologues, and the touch of drama is omnipresent. And yet, the film could be a much-needed accurate portrayal of the divide between the rich and the poor, between ‘India’ and ‘Bharath’.
Will it live up to its potential? To know that, you’ll have to get to the nearest movie theater on July 12.
