On the eve of the 67th Republic Day, Indian Government has declared the list for the Padma Awards 2016 today. The Padma awards are generally conferred by the President at a function in Rashtrapati Bhawan in March/April every year.
Veteran film actor the Thalivaa, Rajinikanth, ace badminton player Saina Nehwal, tennis queen Sania Mirza, former US Ambassador to India Robert D Blackwill, Indu Jain of Bennett, Coleman & Co will be honored with Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award of India.
Noted Film actor, Anupam Kher, famous playback singer Udit Narayan and other seventeen eminent personalities have been selected for the Padma Bhushan Award this year.
Noticeable identities to get Padma Shri award this year are – Lawyer Ujjwal Nikam, actor Ajay Devgn and Priyanka Chopra along with other 87 esteemed personalities for their contribution in respective fields.
