Arunima Sinha becomes the First woman amputee from India to climb Mount Vinson of Antarctica

India’s pride Arunima Sinha, who graced the world’s first female amputee to scale Mount Everest in the year 2013, has tallied different vital accomplishment to her career and resume. The 30-year-old Arunima Sinha has now become the first female amputee to scale Mount Vinson which is the tallest peak of Antarctica. Arunima Sinha was a past national level volleyball athlete aimed mountaineer, steered to the famous social networking site Twitter and executed the statement of her unbelievable accomplishment.

For her massive accomplishment the prime minister of India, Narendra Modi greeted her by tweeting: “Congratulations to Arunima Sinha for scaling new heights of success. She is the pride of India, who has distinguished herself through her hard work and perseverance.”

Arunima Sinha was born on 20 July 1988 and was a national level volleyball athlete who was assaulted from a moving train by some criminals in the year 2011 while she was countering them. As a consequence of resisting, one of her limbs had to be removed below the joint.

Her future plans and intention after this incident were to scale all the highest mountain peaks of all seven continents and raise the tri-colored national flag of India. Arunima has previously climbed the six highest peaks by the year 2014 which are Elbrus in Europe, Kosciuszko in Australia, Mount Everest, Kilimanjaro in Africa, Aconcagua in Argentina and Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia. She finished her final mission on January 4, 2019, by climbing the peak of Mount Vinson in Antarctica.

Arunima Sinha is from Ambedkar Nagar city which is located in Uttar Pradesh and is also the author of the famous book “Born again on the mountain” which was launched by PM Modi in the year 2014. Earlier, she has been awarded by Akhilesh Yadav (Previous chief minister) and Jitendra Singh(Indian Sports Minister) on the occasion of several successful achievements. She was later awarded by Padam Shri, which is the fourth greatest civilian honor of India.

Arunima is now committed towards the social well-being and wishes to inaugurate a free sports foundation for the welfare of underprivileged and differently abled people. She is now granting all the financial benefits she is receiving by grants and workshops for the social welfare. Her sports academy would be entitled “Shaheed Chandra Shekhar Vikalang Khel Sports Academy” which will be inaugurated in the coming years.
