Here is an exceptional boy whose achievements at such a young age deserve to be mentioned. Akrit Jaswal started to talk and walk by the age of 10 months. He began to read and write when he was 2 years old. By the time the boy was 5, he was reading Shakespeare. The IQ of Akrit is 146, the highest IQ among the boys of his age in our country.

Akrit Jaswal became the youngest surgeon in the world at an age of 7 years. The boy has a reputation of being a genius in the field of medicine. He successfully performed the surgery of a burn patient – an 8 year old girl. Because of the burn, the fingers of the girl had fused together. Akrit freed her fingers by carrying out the surgery.

Mr. B.R. Rahi, Chairman of Secondary Education at Dharamshala, mentored and sponsored Akrit. Akrit was studying to get a science degree in Chandigarh College, at the age of 12. It has been reported that Akrit is the youngest student that an Indian University has ever accepted.

The keenness of Akrit to find a cure for the disease of cancer gave him worldwide admiration and attention. He was invited by ‘Firecracker Films’ to London to meet many leading medical researchers. ‘Firecracker Films’ is the organization, which investigated Akrit’s story. They also requested another organization, ‘Team Focus’, to assess this 12 year old boy’s intelligence.

The team reported that the boy performed exceptionally well in numeracy and verbal tests, however, his practical tests were a bit poor, especially pattern matching. Oprah Show showed this Indian youngster as ‘the little genius’. Akrit Jaswal is certainly a genius in the medical field, and is focused on finding out a cure for cancer. He is currently studying Bioengineering in IIT Kanpur.
