Burj Khalifa is known to be the tallest tower in the world, and we are eagerly waiting to see how tall the Sreebhumi pandal will be.
Santosh Mitra Square
Santosh Mitra Square is another club which pulls its spectators with its beautifully designed pandals and carefully carved Durga pratima and this year the theme for the puja will be ‘Laxmi Narayan Temple‘ of Rajasthan also known as Birla Mandir.
Unnayan Samiti Club
This club has chosen a political theme for this year that says ‘Chief Minister‘ owing to the great works of Mamata Banerjee- CM of West Bengal, and her gracefully winning elections of 2021.
75 Pally Bhawanipore
75 Pally of Bhawanipore has also decided to lean to a political theme and fixed their theme as ‘Ghorer Meye’ addressing the CM of West Bengal, again.
Bosepukur Sitala Mandir
Bosepukur Sitala Mandir has kept its theme quite basic and yet is a promising one. The theme for this year is ‘Taan’ meaning affection, but it also conveys a social message of avoiding smoking since Taan in bangla means affection and pull or smoke both.
Barisha Sarbajanin Club
Last year Barisha Club had given us quite a surprise by its innovative theme based on the migrant workers and their struggle through the lockdown, but this year it has a completely different theme which says ‘300 Kotir Prostuti’ meaning preparing something out of the 300 crore budget. Ekdalia Evergreen Club
Ekdalia Evergreen is known for having basic themes and still manage to pull a heavy number of spectators. This year the theme will be ‘Ek Kalponik Mandir’ which translates to ‘an imaginary temple’. We are waiting to see what the imaginary temple will look like.
Badamtala Ashar Sangha
Ashar Sangha has decided to keep their theme ‘Aasha‘ that denotes the dream and the wish that everything will be fine one day and things will again return to normal as it was before the pandemic.
66 Pally Club
Although it does not have a theme as such but has proven to be the best, the people have ever seen. 66 Pally Club is creating history by conducting the puja rituals by ‘Women Priestesses’ for the first time and this is surely worth mentioning in this list.
This is the second year we are having to celebrate Durga puja in the pandemic but this year almost more than half are fully vaccinated which surely might help to keep the situation under control.
