This year the Republic day celebration at Rajpath is expected to be even more greater and in a bigger way.

Several events like communal hoax to recent Pathankot terror attack have made this 67th Republic Day more significant compared to the previous year.

Here are six new things you can expect from the parade of 67th Indian Republic Day that millions across this country are waiting for:

1. French Soldiers in Parade

For the first time, soldiers from a different country will take part in the 67th Republic Day Parade of India. A troop of French soldiers will perform on that day.

2. Chief Guest Francoise Hollande

It is expected that this time around Francoise Hollande, the Prime Minister of France, will be the Chief Guest at the 67th Republic Day . His presence at the Republic Day Parade, 2016 is expected to add a touch of poignancy, considering the status of both countries as both affected by terrorism and the recent attacks at Paris and Pathankot.

3. 5 more tableaux

Till the previous year, we usually observed twenty tableaux based on different themes and events performing in the parade. But this year, there may be five more tableaux will be deployed for this occasion.

4. More Visitors

Every year, around 1 lakh visitors come to enjoy the parade. But this year, the numbers of audience may go up by 25000 more.

5. Extended Parade time

The Republic Day program,which usually winds up within two hours, could run for a longer time this year.

6. Canine Brigade

Indian Army dogs will also march down the Rajpath after a gap of 26 years. Indian Army has selected 36 canines to participate along with their handlers.
