Clarence then shows George what his town would have looked like if it were not for all of George’s good deeds throughout the years.

9. Home Alone (1990)
Kevin McCallister, an annoying 8-year-old played by Macaulay Culkin, is forced to sleep in the attic by his mother Catherine O’Hara the night before the family travels to Paris. Kevin accidentally misses the McCallisters’ departure for the airport, and when he returns home to find the house vacant, he believes his yearning to be alone has been granted. The realization that he is the only one who can stop two con artists (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) from robbing the McCallister residence dampens his excitement, though.

The Grinch, a green hermit, has been residing with his pet dog, Max, in Mount Crumpit, which is located outside of Whoville. But Cindy Lou Who, the daughter of Lou and Betty Who, thinks the Grinch has some redeeming qualities. Cindy also realizes that Christmas should not be about materialism but rather about spending time with loved ones. The Grinch plans to spoil Christmas by dressing up as Santa in vengeance for being made fun of and for the public’s continuous desire for gifts.

6. Elf (2003)
Will Ferrell’s character, Buddy, was raised as an adult among Santa’s elves after being accidentally sent to the North Pole as a toddler. As this happens Walter Hobbs, a cynical businessman played by James Caan turns out to be Buddy’s father. Once a DNA test establishes this, Walter grudgingly makes attempts to connect with the innocent Buddy, which results in more chaotic consequences.

5. A Christmas Story (1983)

Sandra Bullock finds herself in a difficult situation after saving a man who was shoved in front of an L train on Christmas Day. She quickly becomes friends with his family, who accept her with open arms. The sole issue? She ultimately falls for the brother of the man.

1. Bad Santa (2003)
