The Indian women’s cricket team gave another great performance to defeat Australia by 10 wickets (Duckworth-Lewis method ) in a rain-affected T20 International. India is now take 2-0 lead in the three-match series, at the MCG, on Friday.
Excelent bowling performance by Jhulan Goswami and Rajeshwari Gayakwad. Both of them claimed two wickets each, cramped Aussies to 125/8 in 18 overs. The match was delayed because of rain. So therefore, India were set a revised target of 66 from 10 overs.
Indian Women’s Cricket team skipper Mithali Raj was brilliant, she led from the front with a stunning innings of 37 from only 32 balls & her partner Smriti Mandhana stroked 22 from 24 balls as India sailed to 69 for no loss in 9.1 overs to secure a prominent victory.
This was Indian Women cricket team’s maiden T20 series victory against the mighty World champions Australia. The Indians overshadowed Australia by five wickets in the opening T20 International in Adelaide on Tuesday.
For record, it’s the third time in the last 11 T20 matches that the Indian women beat the World Champions.
